Police are looking for a suspect in a bank robbery. The suspect walked into a TD Banknorth and handed the teller a note, threatening violence.

Waterville Police Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said the robbery happened at the Main Street branch just before 6 o'clock Thursday evening. After giving the note to a teller, the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. The last time the robber was scene, he was walking south on Main Street toward Appleton Street. The suspect is described as 6 feet tall, heavy set, wearing a dark colored jacket, hat, face mask, and gloves.

Approximately 10 Waterville Police units responded to the scene and were provided assistance from surrounding agencies that helped to search the area for the suspect. A State Police K-9 and handler also responded and tried, unsuccessfully, to track the suspect with negative results.
