Tom Brady reaffirmed Tuesday that we wants to play football for as long as he can, saying he expects to play "next year and hopefully beyond."

"Like I’ve said, I have goals to play for a long time," Brady told WEEI's "Kirk & Callahan" on Tuesday. "I still love doing it."

Brady has said he wants to play until he's 45, but comments made on the Facebook Watch series "Tom vs. Time" may have left some wondering if Brady still had the desire to continue competing at the high level we're used to seeing.

"It's a big commitment, laying here three days after the game and getting my Achilles worked on and my thumb. You go, 'What are we doing this for?' You know? 'What are we doing this for, who are we doing this for, why are we doing this?'"

Brady also expressed a desire to spend more time with his family.

"There is more to think about than just me. And I think that's what you commit to when you have a family. They commit a lot to me. That obviously goes both ways."
