Baseball is a tough business. After winning the Cy Young Award last season, Sox pitcher Rick Porcello is now a 17th loser this season.

The Tampa Bay Rays got out of Boston with a 4-1 win Sunday afternoon. Combine that result with a Yankee win and the Sox lead goes down to 3.5 in the AL East.

Porcello actually pitched well for four innings but then gave up four hits, a walk and two runs in the 5th.

Meanwhile, the Sox offense went dormant again - just five singles.

The Sox fall to 81-62 and that means 19 games remain on the schedule.

After a day off Monday, the Sox begin a series vs the lowly Oakland A's.
