The Tampa Bay Rays cashed in on some poor Red Sox defense and bad pitching to take game three of the series 6-3 last night.

The Rays scored five times in the first two inning. Catcher Sandy Leon dropping a throw at the plate and a bad throw from rightfield by Mookie Betts proved costly.

Porcello lasted just 3.2 innings, giving up six runs ( 4 earned) and eight hits.

Meanwhile, Sox hitters could do little with lefty starter Blake Snell. He pitched six shutout innings.

The Sox scored three runs late in the game but it was too little, too late.

With their 34-16 record, the Sox come back home tonight to begin an inter-league series with the Atlanta Braves at Fenway. Live coverage on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket begins at 6:25pm.
