The UMaine baseball team is picked to finish third in America East Conference play this spring. The annual preseason poll of coaches picks Binghamton and Stony Brook as co-favorites, each getting three first place votes.

Maine is the reigning regular season champion (20-9 AE, 37-22 Overall). Binghamton won the conference tournament on moved on to the NCAA field of playoff teams.

The Black Bears will return several key players, including AE pitcher of the year Tommy Lawrence (11-3, 2.32 ERA).

Maine starts the season February 14th against national ranked UMiami.
