The Presque Isle Wildcats took to the floor Friday night in defense of their regional  title, taking on the No. 6 seed John Bapst Crusaders in the first Class B semifinal match-up at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Presque Isle, the No. 3 seed, turned in a strong second half and came away with a 51-35 win over the Crusaders.

Bapst started strong and held a 26-16 lead at the half. Presque Isle stormed back after halftime, tying the game at 26 with 4:20 left in the 3rd, outscoring the Crusaders 22-4 in the quarter. The Wildcats then pulled away in the final quarter, outscoring Bapst 13-5 in the 4th.

Emily Watson led the Wildcats with 15 points. Regan Nelson added 12.

Bapst was led by Jocelyn Bell with 12 points.

Presque Isle moves on to play the winner of No. 2 MDI and No. 7 Hermon.
