QB Wasilewski Wins NE Award

UMaine senior QB Marcus Wasilewski has won the Gold Helmet Award that goes to the top college player in New England each week. Wasilewski wins it for is work in the Black Bears win over Bryant University last Saturday 35-22.

The Gold Helmet Award is given out by the New England Writers' Gridiron Club of Greater Boston.

In the win Saturday, Wasilewski threw 4 touchdown passes and rushed for another. His passing stats include 23 for 32 and 263 yards. His rushing stats include 64 yards on 13 carries.

Maine takes a 3-0 record to Northwestern on Saturday.
