Things could not have gone any worse for the UMaine Black Bears in their WNIT first round game. Quinnipiac pounded the Bears 66-66 ending Maine's season.

The Bears finish the year at 26-9 and fall to 1-6 in WNIT tourney play.

A week ago, the Black Bears almost beat Albany for the right to play in the NCAA tournament.

On this night the Bears seemed to have little interest in the WNIT.

Quinnipiac led Maine 45-15 at the half after the Bears managed just 10 first quarter points and five in the second quarter.

The two teams each scored 18 points in the third quarter and then the Bobcats put it away for good in the fourth, outscoring Maine 27-11.
