Prep Hockey 2 BB.jpgThe match-ups for Eastern Maine high school hockey championships are set following Saturday's semifinals.In class A it will be # 1 vs. # 2 with Lewiston and Bangor both advancing. The # 2 Bangor Rams knocked off St. Doms  but needed two overtimes to get the 3-2 victory. Rams senior Parker Sanderson stole the puck in the neutral zone with 2:42 to play in the second overtime and shot the puck past Saints goaltender Grant Carrier to earn their spot in Tuesdays title game at 6pm. Bangor will play # 1 seed Lewiston who had no problem beating Brunswick by a 10-0 score.

Defending Eastern Maine class B champion Messalonskee will have a cjhance to win back-to-back titles after eliminating Hampden 7-5. Number 2 seed John Bapst will be their opponent thanks to the Crusaders 5-1 win over Presque Isle in the other semifinal. Messalonskee now has a 17-2 record with only one of those losses against an Eastern Maine team. That was John Bapst who beat the Eagles 5-4 in overtime back on January 12. The Eastern Maine title game is at 7pm on Tuesday at the Alfond Arena.
