The Bangor Rams held on to beat the Hampden Academy Broncos is Class A North baseball action by a score of 3-2 from Bordick Park.

The game featured Peter Kemble facing Alex McKenney in the match-up as the starters combined for just one earned run during the outing.  Kemble picked up the complete game win with just three hits allowed, while striking out two.  It was his third victory of the season and he has still yet to allow an earned run through 19 innings in 2017.

McKinney picks up the loss as he allowed three runs on four hits and two walks.  He did pick up 11 strikeouts before being relieved by Andrew Gendreau who had a clean seventh inning.

Bangor scored a run in the second inning as Noah Missbrenner scored on a wild pitch and then the Rams would tally two more on a two RBI singles by Derek Fournier and Missbrenner in the third.  Hampden answered back with two runs of their own, as first baseman Nick Lorenzo drove in two runs on a single.  McKenney launched a home run foul in the bottom of the seventh inning before Kemble retired the side to secure the game.

Bangor moves to 7-1 on the season and are scheduled to host Mt Ararat on Friday afternoon.  Hampden falls to 4-3 on the year and will play Mt Blue on Thursday afternoon.

The Rams softball team also picked up the win in Hampden with a 14-10 victory over the Broncos
