Ray "All Business" Wood of Bucksport claimed the featherweight title at Friday night's New England Fights mixed martial arts event on the Bangor waterfront.

Wood, 24, defeated Lenny “The Show Stealer” Wheeler of Prince Edward Island, Canada, using a guillotine choke hold to force his opponent to tap out about a minute into the first round of the fight.

Wood is now 4-0 in his professional career. Wheeler is 6-3.

"Nations Collide: Canadian Invasion," promoted by NEF and Waterfront Concerts, marked the first MMA event in the city, drawing about 3,500 people to Darling's Waterfront Pavilion.

In the co-main event, undefeated 20-year-old Matt DesRoches of Fredericton, N.B. defeated Brewer's Jon Lemke (3-1) in the 160-pound weight class.
