Go figure. The Red Sox traded Jalen Beeks for Nathan Eovaldi at the trade deadline. Sunday, Beeks came back to haunt his old team.

The Tampa Bay Rays shut down the Sox 2-0 in the last game of the series. Beeks pitched four strong innings and picked up the win in relief.

It didn't seem to matter who was on the mound for the Rays - the Sox bats went quiet for one of the few times all year. Boston batters collected just two hits all day and struck out 10 times.

The Rays didn't do much at the plate either but solo home runs from Joey Wendle and CJ Cron was the difference.

The are now 88-37 with the Cleveland Indians coming into Fenway for four game starting Monday night. Live coverage of all four games on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket.
