The long, drawn out winter weather has hindered the start of Maine's river racing but the racing will get started this weekend with the St. George River Race in Searsmont. That race is a go for Sunday afternoon. The Passagassawakeag River Race is postponed.

Both races are fundraisers for the Waldo County YMCA and director Dale Cross says the St. George Race that got postponed last weekend, will be held this Sunday. Registration starting at 11am and race start at 1pm.

The 41st annual Passy Race is scheduled for Saturday morning has been postponed and the St. George Race will be used as a combined race for the two events.
