Red Gendron Era Has Begun

GENDRON PRESSER 140It’s been 20 years since Dennis “Red” Gendron has worked in the UMaine hockey offices, but his name is now on the door as Head Coach.Gendron was introduced at a press conference at Alfond Arena and impressed upon those in attendance how much he wanted this job and his plan to get the Bears back to a national championship, something he was part of in 1993 when Maine won its first. In an interview with the Ticket’s Dale Duff he stated how lucky he is stating “I woke up this morning as a national champion and head coach of the Maine Black Bears”. Gendron was an assistant on this years Yale team that took the title a month ago. He becomes the fourth head coach in program history.
