Though the Red Sox are still in the thick of a pennant race, Major League Baseball announced the schedule for the 2017 season on Wednesday afternoon.

Possibly the toughest stretch for the Sox is from May to the July All-Star break where the team plays 28 of 40 games on the road.

Ten of the last nineteen games of the regular season will be against teams outside of the division, which is drastically different from the twenty three game stretch of divisional play that Boston wraps up 2016 with.

The MLB seasons will kick off on April 2nd with the Yankees facing the Rays and the Diamondbacks hosting the Giants.
