Boston Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz is day-to-day after leaving his first spring training workout in Fort Myers, Fla., with a mild hamstring strain.

Buchholz suffered the injury Tuesday morning while reaching down for a ball during pitchers’ fielding practice drills, according to NESN. According to that report, Sox skipper John Farrell told reporters that the 28-year-old righty was "day to day" and more information would be available Wednesday.

Spring training is off to a rough start for the Sox, with news coming earlier this week that prospect Bryce Brentz will miss spring training after accidentally shooting himself in the leg while cleaning his gun.
