The Boston Red Sox opened their exhibition schedule with a 5-2 win over Northeastern University in a seven inning game. Now it's on to another seven inning game against Boston College.

Brandon Workman started for the Sox. He gave up a single to the first Huskies hitter then retired six straight batters with 16 pitches.

Burke Badenhop, who was acquired in the off-season pitched a one-two-three third inning on three pitches.

Then young lefty Henry Owens pitched the next inning, giving up two walks and striking out two.

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Sox scored four times with help from players named Wilkerson and Herrera - guys who will not be on the roster come opening day.
