Red Sox Rotation Looking Impressive
With less than two weeks to go before opening day in Major League Baseball, have you really noticed how well the Red Sox rotation is pitching?Sure, I know it's just spring training and some of the batters they face will not be on Major League rosters to start the season, but the numbers are still impressive. The Sox rotation will consist of John Lester, Clay Buchholz, Ryan Dempster, John Lackey and Felix Doubront. Here are their combined numbers this spring not including their starts against minor league teams.
- Record 9-1
- Innings pitched 61.1
- Hits 37
- Earned Runs 14
- Walks 17
- Strikeouts 52
- ERA 2.05
Many experts and fans thought the return of John Farrell as the manager is just what the staff needed to get back on the right track. Whether it's Farrell, new pitching coach Juan Nieves or cleaning their system of chicken and beer, you have to feel encouraged with what might be the teams strength as spring training starts to wind down.
Who do you think will have the best season on the mound for the Sox this season?
