The Flyin' Hawaiian is winging his way west after the Boston Red Sox traded Shane Victorino to the LA Angels prior to the start of Monday's game. With the Major League trade deadline approaching on Friday the Sox have begun the process of dealing away high priced veteran players as Victorino was the player that was dealt just an hour and a half before first pitch.

In exchange for the former Red Sox World Series Champion Boston will receive infielder Josh Rutledge who has played in 266 games for the Angels despite spending this year at the AAA level. While in the majors Rutledge batted .259 with 12 home runs and 95 rbi. Those numbers came while playing in the Colorado organization.

To fill the spot previously held by Victorino the Sox have recalled Rusney Castillo who got the start in right field for Boston.
