Renovated Irish Stadium Has A Maine Feel

When college football fans sit down to watch the Fighting Irish season opener Saturday afternoon, they will be sitting on seats made right here in Maine.

Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana is one of the most iconic sports venues in the country and as part of a huge renovation project, Hussey Seating Company from North Berwick was awarded the contract to replace seating at the 80,000 seat stadium.

Hussey Seating replaced aging wooden bleachers with vinyl bleacher covers. The upper bowl seating was replaced last year and the lower bowl seating project was completed this month.

Notre Dame hosts Temple is the season opener Saturday at 3:30pm.

Many of the stadiums and ballparks in pro sports have seating from Hussey - Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City and Titans Stadium in Nashville to name a couple.
