The 2014 Maine amateur golf tournament season begins this weekend with the 50th anniversary Paul Bunyan Tournament. Golfers will compete on two courses - Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono and Kebo Valley Golf Club in Bar Harbor.

Rockland's Ricky Jones won last year's Bunyan and now owns five tourney titles. He will defend playing in a group that tees off at 7:30am Saturday morning at PVCC.

Jones owned the Maine amateur golf scene last year, winning the Bunyan, the Maine State Amateur Championship, the Mid-Maine Amateur Championship and played in the national U-S Public Links Tournament.
