Various media reports have Rhode Island College coach Bob Walsh as UMaine’s next men’s basketball coach. UM officials have had no public comment on the matter as of yet.

The Providence Journal is reporting that when contacted this weekend Walsh would only say “this should be resolved in the next day or two, I would expect.”

Walsh has been at RIC for the past 9 seasons, winning the LIttle East Conference title 6 times, including this past season. His record at RIC is 204-63. The school is located in Providence and plays in the same conference (LEC) as the USM Huskies.

He has also been a Division-1 assistant under Tim Welsh at Iona and Providence.
