It took three overtimes but the Orono Red Riots finally put away the Old Town Coyotes 65-61 Thursday night and stayed unbeaten in Class B North.

The Riots led by as many as 12 points in the first half but could never close the door on the Coyotes.

Orono had the final shot in regulation but missed, sending the 42-42 into overtime.

Old Town's Jake Cyr hit a shot with eight seconds left in overtime to tie the game at 49-49 and send it to a second OT.

In that overtime period, Orono's Zack Dill hit a corner three with 15 seconds left to tie the game at 56-56 and force overtime #3.

Sam Martin came up big with a couple of baskets and Connor Robertson hit enough free throws down the stretch to finally give the Red Riots the 65-61 win.

Orono improves to 4-0. Old Town falls to 1-4.

NOTE: Earlier in the night, the Old Town girls defeated Orono 35-21. Olivia Albert had 13 and Maddy Emerson added 12. The Coyotes move to 4-1. The Riots drop to 1-3.
