The Orono Red Riots let an 18 point lead slip away in regulation but then went on to beat Old Town in overtime 56-55 to get their fourth win of the season.

It was a mid-season thriller at MacKenzie Gym Thursday night. Orono led most of the night on inside scoring from Connor Robertson and outside scoring from Jonathan Steelman. The Red Riots led by 12 after one quarter, 13 at the half.

And then Old Town started to make its move in the third quarter, outscoring the Red Riots 21-11. The Coyotes hit five three-pointers to get within three points after three quarters (39-36).

With two minutes to play in regulation, a Shawn Hoogterp three-pointer got the Coyotes a one point lead.

At the end of regulation the two rivals were tied 43-43.

In overtime, the Riots outscored Old Town 13-12 to get the victory. Steelman scored five points in OT, Zach Dill hit a big three-jpointer and Robertson hit free throws.

Jacob Cyr seven points in overtime to lead the Coyotes.

The win puts Orono at 4-5. Old Town drops to 3-6.
