Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who has missed two of the past three games with back and ankle injuries, is not expected to play Sunday afternoon against the Tennessee Titans, sources told ESPN.

Gronkowski, listed as questionable, has been a limited participant at practice all week.

The 29-year-old Gronkowski did travel with the team to Tennessee, leaving open the possibility that he could still play, but that is not the expectation, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

The Patriots have a bye after Sunday's game in Tennessee, giving the tight end an additional week to heal up. The Patriots will visit the Jets following the bye.

Gronkowski has caught 29 passes for 448 yards and one touchdown this season.
