The Boston Red Sox got two good pitching performances but only one win as they split their double-header with Minnesota taking the first game 6-3 and dropping the nightcap 2-0.Eduardo Rodriguez made his Fenway debut and did not disappoint pitching 2-hit ball over 7 innings and striking out 7 Twins.

Dustin Pedroia led the offensive attack with 4 hits and an rbi while Xander Bogaerts added 3 hits, 2 rbi and a stolen base.

Game two went to the Twins as the Sox offense couldn't pick up where they left off in the first game as they only managed 2 hits. It spoiled a pretty good start by Rick Porcello who allowed both runs in the second inning before settling in to go 8 innings where he gave up just 5 hits and struck out 5.

The two teams wrap up the series this afternoon. Following the a full day of baseball Manager John Farrell talked about the performance of Rodriguez in game 1.
