Two former Maine high school standouts led the UMaine Black Bears to a sweep of UMass Lowell in America East Conference action Wednesday night.

UMaine Women 65  UML 38: Parise Rossignol scored 2,000 points in high school at Van Buren and Wednesday night she had her best night as a college player, dropping 32 points on the Riverhawks of UMass Lowell in 31 minutes of action.

Rossignol hit on eight three-pointers (8-for-11). That's a school record and she finished the night 12-for-19 from the field.

The Bears improve to 7-1 in conference play, 14-7 overall.

The Riverhawks are now 2-6 and 6-15.

UMaine Men 78  UML 59: Andrew Fleming starred for Oxford Hills High School and he had his best night as a college player, dropping 38 points in the Riverhawks.

In 35 minutes of play, Fleming shot an incredible 18-for-20 from the field (90%). He also had eight rebounds and four steals.


The Black Bears win their second AE game and improve to 2-5 AE and 4-19 overall. UMass Lowell is 4-3 and 12-10.
