Chalk up some MLB history for Chris Sale. In last night's 3-0 win over Toronto, Sale recorded his 1,500th career strikeout faster than anyone in the history of the game.

1,500 Ks in 1,290 innings. That surpasses Kerry Wood who needed 1,303 innings.

For the night, Sale pitched seven shutout innings. He struck out 11 and didn't walk a batter. He scattered three hits.

For the season, Sale is now 15-6 with 264 Ks. Both stats lead the American League. Sale's ERA is 2.77, second best in the AL. The Blue Jays have not scored a run off Sale in 22 innings this season.

On offense, the Sox stole a season-high five bases. Rajai Davis, Eduardo Nunez and Andrew Benintendi all had two hits. Hanley Ramirez hit his 20th home run.

The 75-57 record gives the Sox a four game lead in the AL East because the Yankees got rained out.
