Pablo Sandoval is heading back to the disabled list while the Red Sox recalled a pair of players from the minors on Tuesday afternoon.

Due to the moves, first baseman Sam Travis will rejoin the big league club, as will Deven Marrero.  Marrero hit .157 during his 33 game run with Boston this season, while Travis hit .471 in a brief six game effort.

Boston is currently a half of a game back in the AL East standings to the New York Yankees.  The Sox will face the Royals tonight in the second game of the three game series with Chris Sale getting the start.
