Scarborough High School football finally has a Fitzpatrick Trophy Award winner and his name is Owen Garrard.

The senior running back and linebacker was named 47th Fitzy Award winner at a banquet in Portland Sunday afternoon. The award goes to the top senior player in the state.

Wells HS senior Nolan Potter and Falmouth HS senior Jack Bryant were the other finalists for the 2017 honor.

Garrard helped the Red Storm to a dream season, including a 57-0 win over Windham for the Class A state title.

For the season Garrard rushed for over 1,200 yards and 24 TDs. On defense, he was in on 76 tackles.

Back in December Garrard was named Maine's Gatorade Player of the Year.
