Scherzer Leads Tigers Past Sox
The Boston Red Sox losing streak has reached five games following an 8-6 loss at Detroit Saturday night.Tigers wasted little time getting to Jon Lester who could not make it out of the 5th inning after allowing 5 runs on 12 hits. Meanwhile his counterpart Max Scherzer held the struggling Sox offense in check by striking out 9 while pitching into the 7th inning.
Nick Castellanos and Eugenio Suarez each had three hits including a homerun to lead the Tigers. Boston's bright spot was Dustin Pedroia who also had three hits and a homerun while driving in two.
The series concludes Sunday night as John Lackey faces Anibal Sanchez.
