Most pitchers would love to throw a no-hitter just once in their career. Saturday night Washington's Max Scherzer completed his second no-hitter this season.Scherzer struck out 17 New York Mets on his way to becoming just the 6th pitcher in Major League history to throw two in the same season. He was in such command that at one point he struck out 9 straight batters.

The other pitchers that were able to throw 2 no-hitters in the same season include Roy Halladay (2010, including one in the postseason), Nolan Ryan (1973), Virgil Trucks (1952), Allie Reynolds ('51) and Johnny Vander Meer (1938).
