The Portland Seadogs-to-Pawtucket Red Sox train has taken on another passenger - Deven Marrero. The latest Sox prospect to get promoted from Double-A to Triple-A.

Does this mean a possible trade could be in the works? Does another team want to see him in Triple-A? Are the Sox looking to move someone on the big league roster?

The young shortstop is another of the Sox blue chip prospects. Marrero was hitting .287 with 5 HR, 39 RBI and 12 steals.

He leaves the Eastern League as the best defensive shortstop with a .987% fielding percentage.

Marrero was the Red Sox first round draft pick in 2012 out of Arizona State.

He becomes the 6th Seadogs player to get promoted already the season.

The Seadogs have the best record in the Eastern League at 55-28.
