If the Husson football team was trying to send a message that they are the team to beat in the ECFC, consider the message sent after a 40-7 beat down of Castleton University.After two consecutive bye weeks the Eagles came out and showed no rust as they controlled the line of scrimmage form start to finish against the team picked to finish second according to the preseason coaches poll.

Husson quarterback Joe Seccareccia had a solid day throwing the ball completing 18 of 24 passes for 298 yards and 4 touchdowns. Those scoring strikes were 61, 63, 35 and 14 yards respectively.Deon Wiggins had 2 touchdown receptions while Robenson Saintard led the Eagles with 94 yards on 7 catches and a score.

The two-headed running machine of John Smith and Logan Steward took control of the ground game with Smith running for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns while Steward added 80 yards.

The 2-1 Eagles will head on the road for a game at Anna Maria next week.
