Maine golfer Shawn Warren is trying to earn a spot on the Web.com PGA Tour - it's considered the triple-A tour for the PGA. After shooting a 78 on day one, Warren has got a lot of work to do.

Warren is a former Windham High School golfer and spends parts of his year in Maine and Florida as a teaching pro. He had a great summer tournamnet season, finishing as the New England Player of the Year.

Warren is now in the second stage of trying to qualify for the Web.com tour - it's a grueling 4-day event in Texas. He shot a 6-over 78 in the first round, putting him in a tie for 77th place. Warren will need to shoot some low scores the next three rounds.

There are close to 500 golfers vying for just a few spots on the Web.com tour.
