The Husson Eagles absolutely dominated a young Alfred State team 35-0 Saturday afternoon. Along the way, John Smith became Husson's all-time leading rusher.

The junior tailback needed 18 yards to pass Julius Williams for the school record. Smith carried the ball 30 times for 153. That gives him 3.627 yards just three games into his third season.

His backup, Obie Christmas scored two of the five Husson touchdowns. He rushed eight times for 48 yards.

QB Corey Brandon had a good day throwing the ball, 17-for-26 and 176 yards. He threw two TD passes and ran for one.

And then there is that stifling defense. The Pioneers gained only 43 total yards. The Husson defense allowed just two first downs. ( Two other first downs were the result of penalties) The Eagles forced one fumble and sacked the Alfred State quarterback four times.

The final total yardage gained favored the Eagles 497 to 43

Husson improves to 2-1 and begins ECFC conference play next week at SUNY-Maritime.

Alfred State falls to 0-4.
