In a back-and-forth battle, the top-seed Southern Aroostook Warriors were finally able to pull ahead of the upset-minded No. 4 Easton Bears and earn a 48-42 semifinal win on Thursday night in Bangor.

The Warriors (19-1) will play the at 9:05 a.m. on Saturday against the defending regional champion Shead Tigers.

Kacy Daggett an eighth grader, and Kylie Vining, a sophomore, each scored 12 points for Southern Aroostook. Kassidy Mathers added seven points.

It was a back-and-forth contest all night, with Easton holding a two-point lead after one quarter, Southern Aroostook holding a one-point lead at the half, and Easton holding a one-point lead after three quarters.

For Easton (11-9), Sara Gilman and Isabelle Morin each had 11 points.
