The Boston Red Sox made a trade on Thursday evening, acquiring infielder Aaron Hill from the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Sox were looking to add some depth in the infield and acquired Hill and cash considerations for pitcher Aaron Wilkerson and Wendell Rijo.  Both Wilkerson and Rijo were minor leaguers in the Red Sox organization.

Hill is a 12 year veterans and in 2016 had played in 78 games, batting 283 with 8 HRs and 29 RBIs.  He is a lifetime 269 hitter and can second base, third base, and shortstop.

Wilkerson and Rijo both have played with Portland Sea Dogs and the former just recently was called up to Triple A.  The Red Sox will wrap up the first half of the season starting with a three game series with the Tampa Bay Rays.
