The Boston Red Sox have made a trade with the Texas Rangers that sends one young pitcher away in exchange for another.Red Sox General Manager Ben Cherington announced the trade of right handed pitcher Anthony Ranaudo who appeared in seven games for the Sox last season, posting a 4-3 record and an ERA of 4.81. The 25 year old struck out 15 and walked 16.
Coming to the Red Sox is 25 year old lefty Robbie Ross jr who has more Major League experience than Ranaudo. He spent his first two seasons as a reliever on the Rangers bullpen posting a 10-2 record and a 2.61 ERA. He spent part of last season in the pen before moving to the rotation. In 27 games he went 3-6 with a 6.20 ERA.
