The Boston Red Sox made a move before the deadline and bolstered their bullpen in the process.

Boston, according to the report, gave up minor league pitchers Gerson Bautista, Jamie Callahan, and Stephen Nogosek.  Callahan was listed as the team's 20th ranked prospect, while Nogosek was 25th, and Bautista was the 47th, according to SoxProspects.com.  Callahan sported a 4.03 ERA in Triple A, while both Bautista and Nogosek played in Single A Salem.  Reed became expendable for the Mets after acquiring AJ Ramos from the Miami Marlins earlier this month.

The 28-year-old will join a bullpen that features Craig Kimbrel, Matt Barnes, Heath Hembree, and others.  The Sox will open up a three game series with the Cleveland Indians tonight from Fenway Park.
