Maybe it was finally getting rid of the flu. Maybe it was being back at Fenway. Whatever the reason, the Red Sox looked great in taking down the Baltimore Orioles last night 8-1.

Drew Pomeranz made his season debut on the hill and was outstanding. Six innings, allowing just one run, six strikeouts and a walk.

The Sox pounded out 15 hits and took advantage of some late game miscues by the Birds.

Dustin Pedroia drove in four runs. Christian Vazquez had four hits and two RBI. Andrew Benintendi had three hits.
