Mainer Brian Butterfield knows the third base coaching job at Fenway Park can be a thankless job. He found out firsthand when Shane Victorino was thrown out at the plate by Toronto rightfielder Jose Bautista.

It happened in the 6th inning with no outs. Dustin Pedroia hit a single to right and Butterfield sent Shane Victorino from second base. Bautista gunned him down at the plate - and it wasn't close.

"I'd like to have that one back. I made a bad decision," says Butterfield

Leave it to a Mainer to be honest, take the blame, take the hit.

Manager John Farrell has his back. "He is an outstanding third base coach and he forced him(Bautista) to throw a 260-foot strike and he(Bautista) did."
