The Boston Red Sox got five decent innings from starter Joe Kelly and then got four great innings from the bullpen to beat Baltimore 4-2. It's the first loss of the season for the Orioles.

Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts and Jackie Bradley Jr. knocked in the four Boston runs.

Kelly held the Birds to two runs in five innings but threw 116 in doing so.

That's where the bullpen came in - Matt Barnes, Tommy Layne, Junichi Tazawa, Koji Uehara and Craig Kimbrel. Four shutdown innings.

The Sox are now 4-4.

NOTE: The Sox announced before the game that Pablo Sandoval has been placed on the DL with a shoulder injury and OF Rusney Castillo has been optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.
