Drake Britton, one of the Boston Red Sox top pitching prospects, is in big trouble with the team ... and the law.

The 23-year-old lefty pitcher was arrested over the weekend in Florida on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, DUI and property damage. Britton was arrested at 4:42AM Saturday in Estero, Florida which is near Sox training camp in Fort Myers.

ESPNBoston is reporting that he was driving a pickup truck 111 mph in a 45 mph zone. With the police car in pursuit Britton swerved around traffic, the pickup jumped over a curb and hit a fence. Officers say he refused a breath test but admitted to drinking. He was taken to the Lee County jail.

This was Britton's first major league camp and was supposed to pitch in Sunday's exhibition game. That did not happen. Monday he was assigned to double-A Portland Seadogs.

He was 4-7 with a 3.72 ERA with the Seadogs last summer.
