The Boston Red Sox used their #7 overall pick in the MLB draft to take University of Arkansas outfielder Andrew Benintendi. He is the first Razorback player win SEC Player of the Year and National Player of the Year.

The 20-year-old Benintendi is 5-foot-10, 180 pounds and from Cincinnati. He bats and throws lefthanded.

He is hitting .380 with a nation leading 19 home runs and 55 RBI. He also has stolen 23 bases.

Arkansas just won a NCAA super regional and are headed to Omaha and the College World Series with a 40-23 record. Benintendi and his Razorbacks play Virginia in their first CWS game Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
