The Red Sox roll out Clay Buchholz, Ryan Dempster and John Lackey in the weekend series in Minnesota.. A good weekend in the Twin Cities and the Sox could be back in first place.

The Sox start the weekend 24-17, just a game behind first place New York.

Buchholz has been dominant so far with a 6-0 record and a 1.64 ERA. Dempster and Lackey have been good but both are coming off rocky performances the last time out.

Other pitching notes...

Andrew Bailey will throw an inning for triple-A Pawtucket this weekend an if everything goes ok he will likely rejoin the Sox on Monday when they play the Chicago White Sox.

Joel Hanrahan will be 12-15 months rehabbing from arm surgery. He had the so-called Tommy John surgery on the elbow, flexor tendon surgery and also had bone spurs removed.

Suppose any team will offer him a contract in the off-season when he becomes a free agent?
