It is a season high five straight wins for the Boston Red Sox after Friday night's 3-0 of the Seattle Mariners. Eduardo Rodriguez throws six shutout innings for his 4th win.

E-Rod now has a quality start in seven games. He gave up just five hits in his 112-pitch performance.

Heath Hembree, Matt Barnes and Craig Kimbrel cleaned up the late innings. Kimbrel picked up his 13th save.

It wasn't like the Sox offense carried the night. Two runs scored on wild pitches. The other came in on a ground ball out. Sox hitters managed just eight hits. Hanley Ramirez and Christian Vazquez each had two.

At 26-21, the Sox have moved into second place in the AL East, just two games behind the first place Yankees.

Lefty Brian Johnson comes up from Triple A Pawtucket to make today's start vs the Mariners.
