Sox Win In 11, Drew Walkoff Hit

Stephen Drew had four hits on the night, none bigger than his walkoff double in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Red Sox a 6-5 win over Minnesota.

Drew’s double knocked in Salty from second base. It was the 13th time in his career he has had at least four hits in a game – the first time with Boston.

The Sox three game losing skid is over.

On the down side, closer Joel Hanrahan lef the game in the ninth inning after giving up a game-tying home run an a walk. Hanrahan called out the trainer and quickly left the mound with a forearm strain. He’ll get an MRI today.

Just yesterday afternoon the Sox put another closer, Andrew Bailey on the DL.

I would expect Junichi Tazawa to be the next guy in to close games.
