Rick Porcello pitched seven innings of two-hit, shutout ball as the Red Sox beat the Yankees 6-3 in the rain at Fenway Park last night.

The victory means the Sox take the series two games to one and puts the Sox record at 10-2. The Yankees fall to 6-7.

Porcello was on top of his game, striking out six and no walks. He threw 99 pitches in seven innings. 69 of them were strikes.

He also waited out a 47-minute rain delay in the middle of the night.

On offense, the Sox scored four times in the second inning and twice in the third to chase Yanks starter Sonny Gray.

Andrew Benintendi, Mitch Moreland and Eduardo Nunez all had two hits. Mookie Betts drove in two runs.

Hanley Ramirez had to leave the game after getting hit on the wrist by a Gary pitch. There did not appear to be any intent to get payback from the night before by the Yankees.

The Sox now welcome the Orioles for a four game series starting tonight.
