Hundreds of Red Sox fans gathered in Bangor Thursday night to hear two of the team's best young players preview the upcoming season and talk about their journey through Major League Baseball.

Before their talk at the Gracie Theatre on the Husson University campus, catcher Blake Swihart and first baseman Travis Shaw met with fans, posing for photos and signing Sox memorabilia.

During their 90-minute talk, Swihart and Shaw focused on the upcoming season, which of course, will be the final season for Sox slugger David Ortiz. The pair also talked about the leadership style of second-baseman Dustin Pedroia and their least favorite ball parks.

During the question-and-answer session with the crowd, the two also talked about their journey through the Sox farm system and how it made the team closer -- and better toward the end of last season.

The event was presented by Townsquare Media. It was the latest in a series of hot-stove events that have included appearances by David Ross and Johnny Damon.
